Supplying us with the RIGHT type of content is crucial to getting your project off to a good start and keeping it on track. Below are some simple guidelines to aid you in your project preparation. If you are not sure how to prepare the information for your project, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Image quality and photographs
If you have an existing logo you would like to use in the design work, it must be provided in vector format. The most common vector formats are Postscript (.eps) and Illustrator (.ai). This format allows the logo to be made bigger or smaller without losing image quality and clarity. A .jpg file is not a vector format, and your image may be degraded if we need to manipulate its size.
Any scans of photographs, drawings and sketches that you provide must have a high resolution. The best resolution for scanned artwork for print is 300dpi (dots per inch). We always recommend this to our clients even if the photographs are only for use on the web. Although the final photo will be published on the web at the lower resolution of 75dpi, a higher resolution is always the best starting point. This enables us to optimise photographs and gives us greater scope for resizing. Content - images and copy in their final formAll copy, articles, photographs, illustrations or other material should be provided to us before work commences in their final form without further changes. Time and resources can be lost if these are provided halfway through a project. It is important to note here that client delays will be added to the finish project date, and depending on our scheduling needs could result in rush and overtime charges.
All materials you provide should be in their final form with no future revisions or corrections necessary. We can usually accommodate minor edits such as spelling corrections, page title changes, and so forth. However, any changes you request after the design work has been completed will be charged at our hourly rate. Ownership information for third-party images and textWhen clients provide images or text belonging to a third party, Connemara Publications requires information on the legal permissions which have been obtained for the use of the material (if any are required). If attribution is required, please provide the details to us before any work commences. This also applies to any other type of material (e.g. music or video) obtained from a third party. Connemara Publications will not be liable for any copyright infringement.
